Crowns
Restore your tooth structure
What are Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns are a type of dental restoration that can be used to restore a tooth to its natural shape, size and strength. Crowns are usually used to cover and protect a tooth that has been broken or has experienced some other kind of damage. They help to strengthen weak teeth, especially ones which have large cavities or root canal procedure. Crowns are usually made from metal alloys or porcelain and will cover the entire surface of a tooth. A crown is estimated to last 10-15 years before it needs to be replaced because of wear and tear.
Our Process
The restorative process of the crowns may vary depending on the need, but in general, a dental technician will take an impression and send it to a laboratory to create a custom-fit, durable artificial tooth. The dentist places the crown around the natural tooth and bonds them together using resin cement. Here at Advanced Dental Care of Dover, we use the highest quality materials and techniques to ensure an esthetic, comfortable crown that is sure to last a long time!
