Dental Exam & X-Rays

Maintaining Oral Health

Examining your teeth is important for preventing future complications or worse issues.

Without regular dental exams, people risk developing tooth decay, cavities, and other dental problems. Dental exams typically include an examination of the mouth including teeth for signs of cavities or tooth decay. A dentist can also identify any oral diseases or disorders that may be present by examining the mouth and oral tissues. Oral cancer is one of the most common types of cancers in adults and can be detected during a dental exam.

What to Expect

Dr. Civitello puts a lot of value on the amount of time he spends with each patient. He is not a dentist who rushes in and is gone in under 5 minutes! As a new patient, you can expect to spend at least 20-30 minutes with Dr. Civitello at our Dover dental office, getting to know each other so that he can learn all about your oral health.

If you are an established patient and have a serious issue, then Dr. Civitello will spend as much time needed to get to the bottom of your problem. Our office also puts a high value on your comfort! From the minute you walk in the door and are greeted by our front desk staff to the time in the chair with our team, we want you to feel at home.

If you have any questions about dental self-care, nutrition, or other issues that didn’t come up during your visit with us, please don’t hesitate to ask! Your oral health and comfort are our priority at Advanced Dental Care, and our Dover team is here to support you!

Recommendations

The American Dental Association recommends dental exams every six months for adults.

A dental exam and x-ray can provide valuable information about your health. A dental exam can check for signs of oral cancer, periodontal disease, and other conditions. An x-ray can help to identify any problems with your teeth and gums.
